How is hair transplantation carried out?

How many grafts will be required?

The number of grafts a patient would need to cover the bald spot can only be determined on a case by case basis. How much time after the hair transplantation I can resume work?

What is FUE and how it is different from the Strip method (FUT)?

FUE (follicular unit extraction) and strip method and it is up to the surgeon to decide which one of these procedure is ideal for you because the end result is same with regards to placement of the grafts (hair) and the final aesthetic look. The only difference between FUE and Strip method is how the grafts are extracted. FUE grafts are removed one by one or in small groups whereas in strip method, an entire strip of hair is removed and the area is then stitched back and is then covered once hair on your back of your head starts to grow and the scar is barely visible.

What is the ideal age for hair transplantation and is there any age limit?

Any person who is age of 21 years of age or above can undergo hair transplantation. However there have been several instances when hair transplant has been successfully carried out for people above 80 years of age. But it will be your surgeon after evaluation and few tests will be in a position to determine if you are ready for hair transplantation.

How long does it take for a surgery to be finished?

In most cases not that long because there are some procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis, requiring no overnight stay and takes only a few hours. All one has to do is just stay for few hours after the surgery has been performed to recover from the anesthesia and once all your vital signs are fine you can head home with your friend or relative. However some reconstructive surgery procedures can involve long hospitalization and monitoring.

Is getting plastic surgery procedure will hurt?

Patients are fully under general anesthesia during the procedure and they do not feel any pain with all measures taken to make them feel comfortable. The use of general anesthesia ensures the patient sleeps through the entire operation and after the surgery is completed does not feel any pain or discomfort.
