FPHL or Female Pattern hair Loss is the common hair loss occurs among women as a result of genetic predisposition. Clinically, termed as female androgenetic alopecia, FPHL is also caused due to chronic Telogen Effluvium that results in temporary hair shedding about 50-100 hair strands in a day. Diffuse thinning of hair increases the reduction of hair shedding or hair volume. Aging, imbalance of androgen levels and a family history of premature baldness are the common causes behind FPHL. Hair miniaturisation or the bald scalp between the hairs appears when tufts progressively lose the hair, and all hairs in the tufts are permanent vanished. During hair loss, hair follicles start to shrink and result in finer and shorter hair. Eventually, the unit follicles stop growing new hairs that cause acute baldness among women. As per the records, more than 40% of women have symptom of female pattern hair loss in the age of 50 and a visible receding of frontal hairline is the result, whereas 45% women experience hair loss signs in the age of 80 with a full head of hair. What is FUT and how does it help to restore the natural hairline?

The surgeon ensures if the patient is a suitable candidate for FUT by inspecting the hair density of donor areas that are the sides or back side of a female’s head. A shoot of anaesthesia is injected to numb the donor site. During the surgical procedure, hair follicles are plucked from adequate donor areas by separating the surrounding tissues and the grafts are transplanted in the recipient site with a fine needle- point instrument. Quality and quantity of hair grafts plays a vital role in the succession of hair transplant technique.

The FUT procedure can be accomplished in maximum 2 consecutive days. A dramatic change to the appearance can be noticed in just 3-4 weeks, and the new hair regrow within 1 week. Quicker recovery requires only 3-4 days.
